Zombie Pin Up Calendar

Last year I had a great time working with Cori Dials of Cori Dials Presents on the 2013 Zombie Pin Up Calendar. The calendar was done in the studio and was a lot of fun to shoot. I went to a couple of shows to help support the sales effort and that was a lot of fun as well.

As with last year, the girls in the calendar chose the theme of their calendar shoot. It has been great working with the girls for next year’s calendar. I have had fun on all the shoots but I think I have had the most fun so far with the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party shoot we did last Tuesday. These are a few promo images from that shoot.

How can you go wrong playing around with concepts like zombies and Alice In Wonderland? As with all the other shoots this year, I was free to play with the lighting as I wanted to. So, as usual, I had fun! Creating rainbows with light is one of my favorite things to play with. Hint: The highlights on tea pot give up the secret (if it ever was a secret)!

The girls thought up their outfits for the shoot and I think they did a great job! All the girls have done a great job with their outfits for the entire calendar. I’m looking forward to seeing which images are chosen and how the calendar looks when it is printed.

I like not knowing exactly how the girls will look for each shoot. I am told the basic concept of the shoot and show up lights and camera. The rest is up to me. Cori lets me do what I think is best. Its always nice to work with people that will let you do your thing!

To be honest I was a bit worried about how to light this one. I thought up several different way of lighting this and I finally decided on the multicolored effect you see here. Zombies and Alice in Wonderland are pretty trippy concepts so I wanted the lighting to be a bit trippy as well!
